Contemporary with Solid Iroko wooden worktops
The first thing we had to do here was find a place for the new boiler that wasn’t in the kitchen. It had been stuck in the corner and had ruined any ability to have a decent run of worktop. The solution? The boiler [ an oil one] went outside in the garden. That left us free for our signature corner set of drawers. In the chimney space we had to scrape away at the plaster to fit a 900 wide range cooker and then we fitted a super powerful extractor which whizzes muck and fumes right out of the chimney at the top of the house. On the other side we built a sort of display dresser with glass doors. This hand painted sherbet cream kitchen was beautifully complimented with some chocolate brown Iroko [solid wood] worktops. Now wood worktops are brilliant. Downside. You do need to maintain them!
